Hundreds of students gathered in Patras to demand the repeal of a bill proposed by Greek Minister of Education Niki Kerameos, which would restore police to university campuses. Demonstrators proceeded to march to Georgiou Square, hanging banners in solidarity with the Koufontinas hunger strike.

Chileans in Antofagasta placed and burned barricades following the police murder of a street artist in the city of Panguipulli for not being able to present his ID before being shot in the chest several times by Carabineros.
A few dozen Chileans gathered at Plaza Dignidad in Santiago for the New Year, protesting against Piñera and for amnesty for all political prisoners. Demonstrators waving the Mapuche flag were immediately attacked by Carabineros, who used water cannons against a tiny demonstration of about 25-30 people.

Several police vehicles were torched, the police station’s windows were smashed, and fireworks were shot at the scene.
Dozens of German anarchists and abolitionists gathered in Flensburg for a noise demo of solidarity with prisoners on New Year’s, launching fireworks and firecrackers and marching through the city.
