Hundreds of immigrants in Spain gathered at the Government Delegation in Madrid on International Migrants’ Day to protest against the collapse of the processing rate for immigration applications, calling on the government to fix the indefinite delay of immigration processing.
Hundreds of protesters marched in Columbus after the fatal shooting of a 16-year-old Black girl by police, gathering outside of the Columbus Police Department’s headquarters and marching to and back from the Ohio Statehouse, demanding the immediate prosecution of the officer responsible.
Dozens of youth in Lebanon cut off the Jiyeh highway, Al Masnaa-Chtoura Road, and Dahr Al Baidar Road at the Jdita Junction, in solidarity with protesters in Tripoli demanding an increase in employment opportunities and living conditions.
Dozens of Chilean activists and street medics gathered at Plaza Dignidad in Santiago to protest for amnesty for all political prisoners and in commemoration of the murder of the Mapuche warrior Matías Catrileo on the 3rd of January in 2007. Demonstrators were immediately subjected to chemically tainted water cannons, with many left having scars and burns. One protester was also thrown to the ground and injured by a water cannon blast that hit them directly.
Demonstrators took the palace of the Oba of Lagos on the 21st, and walking out with the Oba’s staff demonstrating his ceremonial defeat. The Oba is a ceremonial leader of Lagos by Yoruba tradition, and has become very unpopular from recent protests. On the 22nd, protesters also discovered a locked warehouse meant for citizens but enclosed by the government housing COVID supplies, and looted it.
