Over 10,000 protesters marched in the Athens district of Nea Smyrni after a couple in a park was attacked by police for supposedly violating COVID guidelines. Police attacked demonstrators with flashbangs and tear gas, which resulted in the crowd assaulting one police officer and leaving him with a nonfatal head injury. For the rest of the night, police ran around the area, brutally assaulting anyone who approached them.
Greek anarchists dropped banners in the neighborhood of Melissia against sexism, rape, and patriarchy in social life as well as within the Hellenic government itself.
Union workers went on strike at a Hunts Point Market, demanding a $1 per hour wage increase. Police assaulted those on the picket line, arresting several for no apparent reason, as they were later released without a trial.
Over 900 students gathered in Thessaloniki in a mostly spontaneous demonstration, demanding the repeal of a law that brought police back to university campuses across Greece for the first time since the fall of the military dictatorship in 1974. Despite confrontations occurring after the protesting students were blocked from entering campus, no arrests were made.
