Protesters gathered in Concepción to demand amnesty for all political prisoners of the 18th of October Uprising, marching at the Tribunals of Justice to pressure the government to halt the isolation of many prisoners, including minors, for months under the guise of the coronavirus pandemic.
Hundreds of protesters took to the streets of Santiago in the peripheral southern neighborhoods of La Bandera, La Pincoya, El Barrero & José María Caro, demanding a universal basic income and an emergency housing plan for all residents of Chile.
German anarchists protested in solidarity with 4 arrested anarchists in Belarus (Ihar Alinewitsch, Dmitri Dubowskij, Dmitri Rezanowitsch and Sergei Romanov), facing trial for “terrorist activities” and “illegal trafficking in weapons and explosives”, being held in Minsk along with many other anarchists detained for various charges.
Over 100 Portlanders returned to the weekly march for Patrick Kimmons, a black man killed by police in 2018, whose mother has led marches every week since July demanding the reopening of the case. Cheers of support came from many neighbors, and the police also were notified of the march when it came around to their precinct. Letha Winston (Kimmons’ mother) then stopped the march, led chants, and gave speeches regarding updates on the case.
