Protests occurred in Philadelphia in advance of a rally that Trump will be holding to re-elect him as President of the United States, with about 300-500 protesters gathering to demonstrate against the rally occurring. The rally took place to address his plans to end police brutality in front of undecided voters.
Thousands of protesters descended on Plaza Dignidad and the Presidential Palace in Santiago on a day of national mobilization against the right-wing presidency of Sebastian Piñera, as part of the Estallido Social (Social Outbreak) that has gripped Chile since the 18th of October in 2019. Protesters took to the streets again for Karon Hylton, whose family members have also repeatedly been attacked by police. At least 10 protesters were arrested, and a cousin of Hylton was among them. No police were injured during the protest.
Dozens of protesters in Ft. Lauderdale marched in Las Olas against a law proposed by Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, which is seen by many as repressive due to its possible legalization of running over protesters who are blocking roads, and making participating in an unlawful assembly a felony. Protesters marched to a local jail, banging pots and pans and chanting slogans to the inmates who banged on their windows in support.
