Dozens of protesters gathered at the Cerro Chena mountain in opposition to a proposed sports city at the site near the capital city of Santiago. Torture and disappearances had been known to occur on the mountain under the previous neoliberal dictatorship of Pinochet, and demonstrators demand that all human remains be removed before the sports city begins construction.
