Protesters gathered in Brownsville in North Brooklyn at the construction site of the NBK Fracked Gas Pipeline, demanding its shutdowns over concerns of pollution and harm to the quality of life to the majority-POC constituency of the neighborhoods of the area.
Construction for the day was shut down, with the project moving forward despite the mayor of New York, Bill DeBlasio, expressing his opposition to the pipeline but not revoking the construction license.

Hundreds gathered a few blocks away from the wake of Francisco Martínez, the Panguipulli street artist murdered by police, to protest against state brutality and repression. Carabineros responded with heavy usage of chemical weapons used on demonstrators and would go on to attack the wake itself, causing massive chaos in the area.
Dozens of protesters in the city of Antofagasta took to the streets on the Day of the Youth Combatant in Chile, where 2 young activist brothers were murdered by the military dictatorship in the 1980s. Police responded with brutal repression, tear-gassing residential areas as protesters responded with Molotov cocktails.
Thousands of Albanian protesters returned to the streets for a 6th day following the police murder of 25-year-old Klodian Rasha for buying cigarettes past curfew. Demonstrators lit cars on fire and threw Molotovs at police who deployed tear gas, flashbang grenades, and water cannons in response. At least 20 arrests were made.
Around 1000 protesters in Thessaloniki marched on International Women’s Day starting from the Statue of Venizelos, demanding an end to patriarchal violence and oppression during a #MeToo wave of allegations of sexual assault and harassment against top officials in the Greek government.
