Strikers demanded more personal protective equipment and proper cleaning of restaurants exposed to COVID.
Around 400 protesters in Patras marched on International Women’s Day, calling for an end to patriarchal violence, oppression, and capitalism, as the #MeToo movement gripped Greece amid dozens of allegations of sexual harassment and rape against top officials in the government.

Over 10,000 protesters marched in the Athens district of Nea Smyrni after a couple in a park was attacked by police for supposedly violating COVID guidelines. Police attacked demonstrators with flashbangs and tear gas, which resulted in the crowd assaulting one police officer and leaving him with a nonfatal head injury. For the rest of the night, police ran around the area, brutally assaulting anyone who approached them.
Thousands of students in Thessaloniki marched to decry a law passed by the Ministry of Education in Greece which allowed law enforcement to re-enter universities and created a new university police force for campus enforcement for the first time since the fall of the military junta.
