Manchester University Students Protest Against Racism

Protesters in the University of Manchester gathered after a racial profiling incident that had occurred earlier, marching across campus with an attendance of around 400 demonstrators, which followed the already high tensions on campus after the clashes over a lockdown fence being placed to cage students in.

A black student at the university the previous day had been assaulted after being racially profiled by security guards (video on right), who called his student I.D. suspicious and pushed him up against the wall, searching him as thought he was a drug dealer.

Several student unions and the University of Manchester Rent Strike organization immediately called for an investigation, and sustained protests to continue the pressure.

Video above is that of the assault of the University of Manchester student.
