Lebanese Army Opens Fire on Protesters During Third Night of Unrest in Tripoli

Hundreds of protesters returned to the streets of Tripoli during a third night of unrest in the northern Lebanese city, demanding financial support for those in the region who need it during a 24-hour quarantine, due to the fact that the city was below the UN poverty line of $1.90 per year before COVID struck.

Rocks, Molotov cocktails, fireworks, and other projectiles were thrown by protesters at riot police, before, in an almost unseen event, the military opened fire on protesters, killing one. By the end of the night, there were over 226 injuries recorded in Tripoli.
