Kansas City Protesters Occupy City Hall

In the days following the beginning of the Breonna Taylor Uprising, protesters occupied Kansas City Hall on the 1st of October, 2020, a Friday. They have engaged in clashes with the police, and the National Guard has been activated in response to the occupation taking place.

Their main point is justice for Deja, a black woman who was violently assaulted by a KCPD officer at 9 months pregnant. Protesters call for the officer’s arrest and firing at the minimum, and also call for solidarity with other protests that are part of the Breonna Taylor Uprising.
