Protesters in Iraqi Kurdistan took to the streets after workers striking to earn their normal wages were tear-gassed and shot at, and burnt down several government buildings and clashed with police. A 23-year-old was shot dead outside of the Kurdistan Democratic Party HQ in Chamchamal, west Sulaimania province. Protests also occurred in Kifri, a southern city in Sulaimania.
