Hundreds of anti-government protesters in the Iranian province of Khuzestan took to the streets amid a massive water shortage, demanding the downfall of the Islamic Republic and religious fundamentalism in Iran.

Protesters took to the streets in Santiago on the anniversary of the murder of Communist Revolutionary and singer Victor Jara by the US-backed fascist Pinochet regime. Victor Jara, a militant of the Chilean communist party, was arrested after the US-backed far-right coup against Salvador Allende and brutally tortured until being shot 44 times by regime forces on the 16th.
The CSOA Horta squat in Valencia was attacked by police without notice but failed after hundreds of neighbors and activists arrived within an hour to defend it and push the police out. Demonstrators repaired the urban garden and door of the squat and later gathered in Benimaclet Square in a rally.
Thousands of students gathered in Thessaloniki and marched against a new law which would restore police to university campuses across Greece for the first time since the fall of the military dictatorship. Clashes ensued after police deployed tear gas on protesters, with Molotov cocktails flying through the air and firebombs used against law enforcement. After finishing the march in spite of chemical weapons being used on protesters, the students returned for an afternoon march against state repression.
