Hundreds of protesters in Barcelona marched for a 7th consecutive day demanding the release of Pablo Hasel, a left-wing Catalan rapper arrested and facing charges for insulting the Spanish monarchy. Demonstrators clashed with police, whose heavy presence in the area incited several in the crowd to begin throwing objects at police vehicles and assets.
Around 200 protesters in Chania took to the streets for a demonstration demanding the repeal of a law passed by the Ministry of Education in Greece which would allow police to enter universities again for the first extended period since the fall of the military dictatorship after a disastrous war and student uprising in 1973-1974.
Dozens of protesters in Elizabeth City took to the streets for a 2nd day, demanding the immediate release of the body cameras of the police officers who killed Andrew Brown, an unarmed Black man. Demonstrators blocked off roads and cut off intersections, continuing to pressure the local government to declassify evidence.
