Hundreds of protesters took to the streets of Popayán for a 2nd consecutive day in opposition to neoliberal policies in Colombia and the ratification of the Tributary Reform, which would create new taxes on basic goods and services including water, electricity, and internet bills.
Around 150-200 students gathered in front of the Propylaea in Athens to protest against a law passed by the Ministry of Education which would enable police to enter universities for the first time in 1975. The demonstration was forced to disperse, however, after police blocked anyone from entering the road.
Hundreds of thousands of peasants and farmers stormed the capital of Delhi, clashing with police and occupying the Mughal-era Red Fort monument for the first time in the modern history of India. Although police began to use metal poles against protesters instead of wooden batons, and seemingly unending in their brutality, it was simply impossible to contain the Kisans who received local support.
15 protesters gathered in front of the entrance to the Krome Detention Center to the west of Miami in solidarity with the detainees inside but were blocked by a heavily armed contingent of police. Demonstrators then led chants on the highway, receiving honks of support from those passing by.
Hundreds of protesters marched in Innsbruck in solidarity with refugees in Europe and against the horrific human rights abuses of migrants by the EU, including the creation of the pan-European border agency Frontex and the Moria concentration camp on the Greek island of Lesbos. Police assaulted the demonstration, pepper-spraying participants in the face and making several arrests.
