Hundreds of Belgians in Brussels took to the streets after a 23-year-old black immigrant died in jail after being taken into custody by police during a home raid to enforce quarantine orders. A police station was set on fire, with intense clashes occurring between security forces and demonstrators who threw Molotov cocktails and rocks.
Dozens of protesters gathered at Georgiou Square in Patras in solidarity with the 17 November member Dimitris Koufontinas, who entered a hunger strike on the 8th of January to demand his transfer to the Korydallos prison in Athens, which would enable him to see visitors and receive adequate medical care.
Around 150 protesters in New York marched to demand justice for Daunte Wright, a 20-year-old black man murdered by police in the Minneapolis suburb of Brooklyn Center. Demonstrators blocked the Alexander Hamilton Bridge and were intimidated by police, although no arrests occurred.
Dozens of protesters took to the streets of Elizabeth City for an 8th consecutive day, following the police shooting of Andrew Brown. Despite demonstrations remaining entirely peaceful, police arrested several participants and stopped the protest with dozens of militarized officers on the scene.
