The anarchist movement in Greece is extremely active, and remains so to this day. Its origins of popularity date back to the 1973 anti-dictatorial and anti-American Athens Polytechnic Uprising, in which 24 people were killed. Nowadays, the uprising is immortalized in Greek history.
