German Police Clear Last Tree at Dannenrod Forest Amid Clashes With Activists

Hundreds of protesters confronted police during their final stage of clearing the Dannenrod Forest, killing the last tree, Hambi, and killing the forest defense with it. Activists say that they will continue resistance against the highway construction, and will stop Autobahn 49 from being built at all cost, especially after 50,000 trees were killed.

The Dannenrod Forest in Germany has been occupied for months to stop the construction of Autobahn 49, which was said to be unnecessary, especially by killing tens of thousands of trees during a climate crisis like the one faced now.
