Dozens of German anarchists in Stuttgart participated in the yearly noise demo at the JAV Stammheim, in solidarity with several political prisoners in the jail on various charges, from assaulting fascists to being members of the PKK, classified by the EU as a terrorist organization.
Protesters gathered in Thailand for a pro-democracy protest in front of Parliament, which was soon attacked by police using tear gas and chemical-tainted water cannons. Demonstrators resisted via rubber ducks as a shield, and later clashed with yellowshirt monarchists.
Thousands of protesters in Pereira took to the streets for a 3rd day, demanding the withdrawal of the neoliberal Tributary Reform, which would raise new taxes on basic goods and services. Police brutally attacked the demonstration with tanks and tear gas, resulting in the local police substation being burned down.
Around 200 protesters returned to the streets of Asunción for a 6th consecutive day to demand the resignation of President Marito Abdo, widely held responsible for corruption resulting in the disappearance of $1.6 billion from Paraguay’s healthcare budget, causing a collapse in infrastructure as hospitals were overwhelmed and forced to cut back on resources.
Dozens of protesters in Rethymno marched against police repression in universities, enabled by the passing of a law through Parliament by the Ministry of Education which enabled police to re-enter university campuses for the first time since 1975.
