Lebanese protesters gathered at Al-Nour Square in Tripoli in opposition to Syrian leader Bashar al-Assad, demanding his fall and the end of alleged rigged elections in Syria. The road was cut off, and barricades were placed and lit on fire at the scene.
Protesters took to the streets for the entire day across Nigeria, but remained after nightfall for a vigil in honor of those killed by SARS before and during the current protests. Heavy clashes occurred with police around the area of Plaza Dignidad, with demonstrators subject to chemical weapons including tear gas and chemically tainted water cannons, both of which cause burns and possibly permanent injuries.
