Around 1000 students in Patras returned to the streets on a 2nd consecutive day of protests against a law that reintroduces police to university campuses, passed under the ruling right-wing New Democracy government currently in control of Parliament.
Protesters took to the streets again for Karon Hylton, whose family members have also repeatedly been attacked by police. At least 10 protesters were arrested, and a cousin of Hylton was among them. No police were injured during the protest.
Hundreds of protesters gathered at 36th & Cedar in Minneapolis for a vigil in remembrance of Dolal Idd, a 23-year-old son of Somali immigrants murdered by police the night before. Neighbors went outside to cheer on the demonstrators, who marched around the block after listening to speeches given out.
Thousands of protesters in Barcelona took to the streets for a 2nd day to demand the release of Pablo Hasel, a left-wing Catalan rapper facing charges for insulting the Spanish monarchy. Demonstrators clashed with police, throwing rocks and burning barricades after the arrival of law enforcement to supposedly calm the crowd.
