Dozens of demonstrators in the La Pincoya neighborhood of Santiago returned to the streets against the neoliberal police state in Chile, implemented and propped up by the right-wing president Sebastian Piñera. Police brutally cracked down on the protest, deploying water cannons and tear gas.

Police in Athens brutally assaulted over 100 protesters demonstrating in solidarity with Dimitris Koufontinas, an imprisoned former member of the 17 November left-wing urban guerilla who entered a hunger strike on the 8th of January to demand his return to the Korydallos prison, where he will once again be able to see family and friends. Tear gas, flashbang grenades, and even the rare water cannons were deployed to contain a small crowd of people.
Thousands of protesters in Bucaramanga took to the streets in opposition to neoliberal policy in Colombia and the Tributary Reform, which would impose taxes on basic services like internet, water, and electricity. After police tear-gassed the crowd, clashes began to occur on the streets with angry youth throwing rocks at law enforcement.
Anarchists in Antofagasta took to the streets, blocking roads and burning barricades in solidarity with the political prisoners of the 18th of October Uprising in Chile, demanding a general pardon and the immediate release of all those convicted during the social revolt of 2019 and the indigenous Mapuche struggle for sovereignty and autonomy.
Hundreds of protesters in Panama took to the streets on May Day, demanding an improvement of workers’ rights and labor standards in the Central American country. Several organizations protested at various sites across the nation, blocking key roads to cause as much disruption as possible.
