Hundreds of protesters in Barcelona marched for a 7th consecutive day demanding the release of Pablo Hasel, a left-wing Catalan rapper arrested and facing charges for insulting the Spanish monarchy. Demonstrators clashed with police, whose heavy presence in the area incited several in the crowd to begin throwing objects at police vehicles and the like.
Dozens of protesters marched in Kenosha the night before it was decided whether or not Jacob Blake’s shooters would be charged or not, in a protest led by the man’s father. Demonstrators demanded charges to honor Blake, who had been left permanently paralyzed after the shooting that caused mass riots and looting in the Wisconsin city.
Around 400 protesters marched in solidarity with the Koufontinas hunger strike in Patras, demanding that the Greek government immediately accept the former 17 November member’s request to be returned to his old cell at the Korydallos prison in Athens.
Demonstrators gathered at Nikaia, a neighborhood in southwest Athens, to protest against police repression and brutality in neighborhoods and unemployment for which a stimulus has not been provided during the COVID pandemic.
