Over 8,500 migrants have crossed Honduras into Guatemala, with the number ever-increasing as more and more desperate and impoverished people attempt to seek a new life in the country that has imperialized the continent. Extreme violence broke out at Vado Hondo in Chiquimula, where the Guatemalan military and police were sent to attack unarmed and poor migrants trying to cross the border.

Thousands of protesters continued in the streets of Guatemala City for another round of demonstrations against the government of President Alejandro Giammattei, demanding the resignation of both him and the Minister of the Interior, who appeared to have given the orders for police brutality against protesters. Protesters clashed with police near the end of the demonstration, prompting the deployment of tear gas and later dispersement.
Tens of thousands of protesters demonstrated across Guatemala against government corruption and a budget plan that took away from the poorest and gave to the richest of the country. Over 40 arrests occurred nationally, with hundreds more injured. Demonstrations took place in Guatemala City, Quetzaltenango, and Huehuetenango.
