Over 500 protesters in Berlin gathered to demonstrate against fascism, capitalism, repression, curfew, and state management of the COVID-19 pandemic. Antifascist flags were raised, and banners were dropped across the city declaring the continuation of the anti-state struggle.
Protesters gathered in the District of Bihar against the anti-farmer law proposed by the Indian government that caused massive demonstrations and a March to Delhi campaign nationwide. Anti-government activists burnt copies of the law, with a few also making stick figures made of the paper copies and burning them at the stake.
A few dozen Chileans gathered at Plaza Dignidad in Santiago for the New Year, protesting against Piñera and for amnesty for all political prisoners. 65 anarchists in Athens were arrested at a protest inside the Ministry of Health in solidarity with Dimitris Koufontinas, who entered a hunger strike on the 8th of January to demand his transfer to the Korydallos Prison in Athens, where he could receive better medical care and access to visitors. Demonstrators called for his demands to be accepted rather than inducing the torture of force-feeding Koufontinas.
Activists from Shut Down DC gathered to protest against Trump, calling for his impeachment and expulsion from the White House and presidency. They were trailed by more police than there were protesters, while only carrying 2 banners and seemingly presenting no threat of violence.
