Anarchists and antifascist allies demonstrated outside of the Democratic Party of Oregon, writing ‘SHAME’ and the Three Arrows symbol on the front of the building. The DPO has been widely criticized for being extremely resistant to any police reform in Portland. Its party officials have also federally deputized the police so that they can bring extremely serious charges against protesters and go through Trump’s Justice Department.
Thousands of protesters returned to the streets of Haiti, demanding the fall of the Moise regime propped up by the United States and OAS. Demonstrators clashed with police after tear gas was fired by law enforcement, then followed by riot police opening fire on the crowd with automatic weapons, but with no deaths recorded.
Over 100 Portlanders returned to the weekly march for Patrick Kimmons, a black man killed by police in 2018, whose mother has led marches every week since July demanding the reopening of the case. Cheers of support came from many neighbors, and the police also were notified of the march when it came around to their precinct. Letha Winston (Kimmons’ mother) then stopped the march, led chants, and gave speeches regarding updates on the case.
