The No North Brooklyn Pipeline movement in North Brooklyn has continued to grow, with protesters demonstrating outside of the National Grid HQ at the Metrotech Center, having an attendance of ~25 people.
Antifascists of Madrid took to the streets commemorating the murder of Lucrecia Pérez Matos, a Dominican immigrant, on the 13th of November in 1992 by a member of the Spanish Civil Guard. Protesters condemn the lack of responsibility in the government of keeping Neo-Nazis out of public sight and allowing this murder to happen.
Hundreds of protesters gathered at the Portland suburb of Tigard following the police murder of a mentally ill man with little apparent threat to the life of the officers. Following the realization that there was no police presence at the Tigard Police Department, demonstrators began smashing up windows and attempted to breach the facility until several police cruisers rolled in.
Hundreds of immigrants in Spain gathered at the Government Delegation in Madrid on International Migrants’ Day to protest against the collapse of the processing rate for immigration applications, calling on the government to have a more welcoming policy towards migrants.
