The No North Brooklyn Pipeline movement in North Brooklyn has continued to grow, with protesters demonstrating outside of the National Grid HQ at the Metrotech Center, having an attendance of ~25 people.
Hundreds of protesters in the Washington D.C. neighborhood of Chinatown marched against violence targeted at Asians following a mass shooting of massage parlors that led to the deaths of 6 Asian women and 2 others. Organizers called for the decriminalization of sex work, police abolition, and the end of US and western neocolonialism in Asia.
Around 300 protesters in Thessaloniki marched to demand the repeal of a law passed by the Ministry of Education in February which enabled police to re-enter universities after their presence was banned with the fall of the military dictatorship in 1974 after a student uprising at the Athens Polytechnic.
Over 2000 people gathered at Syntagma Square in front of Parliament in Athens in solidarity with the Dimitris Koufontinas hunger strike, leaving police extremely confused after being undermanned due to claims that the demonstration had been hastily unplanned. Protesters marched through Omonia to Exarcheia before later dispersing.
Protesters in Berlin gathered in solidarity with Dimitris Koufontinas, a former member of 17 November who entered a hunger strike on the 8th of January to demand his transfer to the Korydallos prison in Athens, where he would receive adequate medical care and access to visitors.
