Around 1500-2000 demonstrators in Thessaloniki took to the streets in solidarity with the Koufontinas hunger strike, demanding the government accept his request to be returned to his old cell at the Korydallos prison in Athens where he will be able to see visitors again.
Around 300 protesters in Frankfurt marched after a 19-year-old Iraqi refugee died in a hospital after being arrested for possession of marijuana. While in custody, Qosay Sadam Khalaf “collapsed” in his cell and was taken to a hospital, where he ended up dying. Police attacked the demonstration, kicking and punching protesters without provocation.
Dozens of protesters in the Bonilla neighborhood of Antofagasta dropped banners and clashed with police to demand the abolition of Carabineros (Chilean police) and the release of all political prisoners of the popular uprising. Fireworks were thrown by demonstrators in response to tear gas used by Carabineros, which entered the houses of several people.
